A HUGE FIRE has broken out on a cruise ship docked on the greek island of Corfu. According to local media sources the fire occurred on Friday 12 March at 1530 local time. A fire that broke out aboard a cruise ship moored at the Corfu Port Authority on March 12 has been extinguished.
The Didim Mavisi which cruises the Aegean islandsexperienced a fire shortly after departing from the Aegean district of Ayvalık today. Heavy black smoke and flames were visible in the late afternoon on the starboard side of the ship which is docked on Corfu. The ship continued to burn in the early afternoon for about an hour until local fire fighting assistance arrived. Smoke has been seen billowing from the laid-up cruise ship MSC Lirica which is currently at the dock in Corfu Greece.
